Annual Tour De Barnstable Fund-Raiser Scheduled For 2021

The Tour de Barnstable is offering a virtual bike ride this year. Between now and June 6 riders will fund-raise and complete the 25-mile course.

The virtual ride allows riders to tackle the route in stages or as one trip. They can also bike their own routes near their homes or on their stationary bikes. Riders can sign up at https://www.bikereg.com/tour-de-barnstable. More information and a map of the suggested new route is available at https://tourdebarnstable.com.

The Tour de Barnstable ride is a joint venture with SeaSports Cyclery, Calmer Choice and
Barnstable Land Trust.

Keith Putnam has been riding the Tour de Barnstable since its inception in 2015.

“I hope people are seeing how important a place like this is, and how important it is to preserve
places that showcase the rare nature and wildlife we have here,” he shared.

Sea Sports Cyclery and Outdoor owner Jeff Craddock is excited the ride will continue virtually.

“I’m thrilled that riders can still “participate,” and that we can help keep two important
organizations going so that they can continue to support our community.”

“The Tour de Barnstable does not just bring critical funds to Calmer Choice, but also important
visibility,” said Fiona Jensen, Executive Director of Calmer Choice. “Now more than ever, the
virtual ride is an opportunity to help connect people to the incredible resources we have developed
to help people during this pandemic and beyond.”

“At Barnstable Land Trust, we bring nature to the community. We’re all working to adapt and
succeed in this pandemic environment – and looking for ways to help,” says Barnstable Land Trust
Executive Director Janet Milkman. “Our virtual ride encourages people to give back and support
two important organizations in our community – right here, right now.”
