Type One, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Hingham, is raising funds to support Type 1 diabetes research and assist those living with the disease, by holding a tennis tournament, Serving For The Cure! Wednesday, Sept. 15, from 3 to 4:30 p.m. on the indoor tennis courts at the Village Racquet & Fitness Club, 30 Golf Drive, Plymouth.

The tennis tournament runs in tandem with the organization’s inaugural Par For The Cure! Golf Tourney being held on the same day just down the street at Crosswinds Golf Club, also in Plymouth.

The suggested donation to participate in this doubles, round-robin format is $95 per player. Tennis players of all levels and abilities are welcome, from beginner/hacker to more advanced.

After their athletic endeavors, both tennis players and golfers will gather for cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, raffle, silent auction and live entertainment at Crosswinds Golf Club.
