8th Annual “Stuff a Stocking” at The Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod

Bring some cheer to local children this holiday season by helping “stuff a stocking” at The Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod.  Oversized stockings are located inside each of The Coop’s branches and Operations Center for Cape Codders to drop off toys and gifts for The Boys and Girls Club of Cape Cod and The Cape Cod Military Support Foundation. Suggested items include:

  • Toys & games geared towards kids aged 9-13
  • Art supplies – construction paper, beads and jewelry making stuff, sequins, buttons, pipe cleaners, glitter, hot glue sticks, gimp, plastic canvas, markers, etc.
  • Gift cards
  • Outdoor Games– kick balls, basketballs, footballs, t-ball, hula hoops, bicycles, scooters, and helmet
  • AA, AAA & C batteries

New, unwrapped items can be dropped until December 11th, at which point they’ll be delivered to the two non-profit groups so the items can be distributed to families in time for Christmas.  Cash and check donations can also be dropped off with tellers in each branch (checks should be made out to The Boys and Girls Club of Cape Cod or The Cape Cod Military Support Foundation.)
“The Boys and Girls Club and The Cape Cod Military Support Foundation are two outstanding organizations that provide direct assistance to local kids and families who need it most,” said Lisa Oliver, President of The Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod. “In the eight years the bank has been hosting this holiday program, we’ve seen an outpouring of support from our customers, business partners and well-meaning community members.  It’s a tremendous feeling to watch the giant stockings overflow with gifts and even more tremendous to deliver them to the groups, knowing that they’re going to brighten the holidays for local families.”
The Coop is also supporting the Christmas Wishes program presented by Cape Cod Broadcasting Media.  The radio stations are encouraging listeners to donate specific items based on wish lists provided by Child and Family Services Staff.  Collection boxes are located in each of The Coop’s branches.
