The Agway of Cape Cod Charitable Foundation announced a donation of $40,000 to local animal shelters as a result of Paw Palooza 2017.  This week, Agway presented checks in the amount of $20,000 each to the Animal Rescue League of Boston’s Brewster shelter and the MSPCA’s Centerville shelter.  The funds were raised in July at the second annual Paw Palooza dog festival held at DY High School.
“We are thrilled to be able to make this donation and to have more than doubled our fundraising efforts from the year before,” said Jessica Wile Thomas, Co-Owner of Agway of Cape Cod.  “We’re extremely grateful to the thousands of attendees who helped make this possible, along with the more than 100 businesses and organizations who supported the efforts.  The MSPCA and Animal Rescue League provide a vital role in giving care and shelter to the Cape’s homeless animals.  We’re fortunate to have them in our community.”
More than 10,000 people and several hundred dogs attended Paw Palooza 2017. The festival featured a Dock Diving competition, a show ring, a raffle, a Doggie University, more than 100 vendors, and numerous activities for both families and dogs.  Paw Palooza 2018 is slated for July 14 and 15, once again on the fields at DY High School.
“We have some new and exciting surprises planned for next year, so we hope everyone will save the date,” said Thomas.
The Agway of Cape Cod Charitable Foundation was established in 2016 with the goal of raising funds for local, non-profits in our Cape Cod community. Agway is a third-generation, family owned business with locations in Dennis, Chatham and Orleans.
