Ardeo Café & Catering Opens in West Dennis

After almost 40 years, the Jamiel family—who began their career as restauranteurs with the opening of Celebrities in 1980 at 581 Main Street in West Dennis, which later became Christine’s in 1985—is back where it all started!
On July 1, the family opened Ardeo Café & Catering at Celebrities and Christine’s former dining spot, just in time for the summer season. “It feels natural to be back at this location,” restaurant owner Joe Jamiel said. “We spent 25 years here, so we know the location better than anyone.”
Christine’s sold in 2005, four years after the Jamiel family launched Ardeo Tuscan Tavern on Station Avenue/ White’s Path in South Yarmouth, a successful Mediterranean-style restaurant that has held several locations across the Mid- and Lower Cape areas over the past two decades.
“We created the Ardeo concept based on the change in lifestyles and eating habits,” owner Joe Jamiel explained. The Mediterranean diet is known for its fresh, wholesome, healthy food, and it’s Ardeo’s specialty, alongside takeout orders and meals to go.
Ardeo Café & Catering is open daily for lunch and dinner and serves many of the same dishes that have made them a standout dining destination over the years—everything from artichoke and spinach dip and their Middle East mezza platter to marinated lamb and lemon garlic chicken kabobs as well as an array of wood stone, thin-crust pizzas.
In addition to offering a full takeout menu, Ardeo Café & Catering features family-style meals to go that feed four to six people. Meals include a large salad, entrée, starch, vegetable and loaf of Italian bread—all priced between $45 and $55.
The 150-seat upscale-casual restaurant also has a kids’ menu, full bar and daily lunch and dinner specials. And starting this fall, look for Ardeo’s popular off-season promotions as well as delivery service and dining club memberships.
When the lease for Ardeo Mediterranean Grille in Brewster expired last year, “We left a huge void that we haven’t seen anyone fill, and that has been the feedback that we’ve been getting,” said Jamiel, adding, “We are back home and people are genuinely excited we are. The initial reaction has been overwhelmingly positive.”
