Canal Clean Sweep Oct. 9-19 Needs Volunteers

CARE for the Cape and Islands has partnered with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Park Rangers is seeking volunteers for a socially-distanced cleanup along the Cape Cod Canal or a location of one’s choosing Oct. 9 through 19.

Participants are asked to share photos for a chance to win a prize pack from CARE and T-Mobile USA. Post photos during the event by using #TakeCareCapeCod or #ThinkLikeIts1620 to enter. Donations of $16.20 or more to the Think Like It’s 1620 Campaign to support one or more water filling stations are encouraged and gratefully appreciated.

Volunteers may sign up for two-hour time slots at one of 11 designated locations along both sides of the Cape Cod Canal. A map and registration details may be found by visiting the event page: https://careforthecapeandislands.org/calendar-2/  The page also provides tips on how to prevent additional trash during cleanups.
