SOUTH YARMOUTH – The trustees of The John K. and Thirza F. Davenport Foundation for the Arts have chosen two Cape Cod arts organizations as recipients of $5,000 grants.

The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod will receive $5,000 for their Creative Exchange Program. The Cultural Center of Cape Cod will also receive $5,000 to continue their mission.

The John K. and Thirza F. Davenport Foundation for the Arts funds Cape Cod based cultural organizations. The goal is to help create a vibrant and sustainable arts and culture community across the region.

The Foundation also grants scholarships to Barnstable County residents in their last two years of undergraduate study or, preferably, graduate work in the visual and performing arts.

The John K. & Thirza F. Davenport Foundation was established in 1985. The primary funding for the Foundation has come from members of the Davenport family, Davenport Realty Trust, and private gifts. Scholarship recipients are encouraged to return to the Foundation the amounts they were awarded, when reasonably possible, to expand its assistance to others in need of scholarship aid.
