Hyannis, MA: On Monday, August 26, 2024, the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce will participate in Exchange Day, a nationwide celebration of the power of international exchanges. The goal of Exchange Day is for international exchange program participants, including J-1 Visa Summer Work Travel students, to learn about American customs and culture, give back to the local community, and have fun.
The Chamber’s Exchange Day event, put together in partnership with Cultural Homestay International, Greenheart International, Intrax Work Travel [name of co-sponsor organizations], will take place at the JFK Museum in Hyannis from 3-6 p.m. As part of this year’s theme, “Eat. Play. Give.”, attendees will receive an exclusive tour of the JFK Museum, participate in a scavenger hunt, enjoy a complimentary dinner, and have a chance to win raffle prizes. They will also bring to the event non-perishable food items to be donated to a local food pantry.
The Cape Cod Chamber invites host employers, elected officials, and the media to this special event, and encourages everyone to join in helping spread the word about the impact of international exchange programs on social media using the hashtags #CelebrateExchangeDay and #ExchangesImpact.
“J-1 workers are an integral part of our economy and the Cape community,” says Paul Niedzwiecki, CEO of the Cape Cod Chamber. “We’re thrilled to be celebrating these individuals, and we hope they take away positive memories from the event and their experience on Cape Cod.”
