Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce Elects New Directors & Officers at 97th Annual Meeting

Centerville, MA:  The Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce hosted its 97th annual meeting at Willowbend Country Club on June 18th.
The theme of the meeting was Cape Cod Champions, celebrating significant achievements related to the Cape’s water and economy.  The Chamber recognized the entire Cape & Islands legislative delegation to Boston for their role in establishing the Cape Cod Water Protection Trust Fund, saving Cape Cod residents and business owners an estimated $1 billion in water system costs.
In partnership with the Cape Cod Foundation, the Joshua A. Nickerson Society Award was presented to Tony & Lorraine Shepley of Shepley Wood Products for significant community support and philanthropy over the past 40 years.
Election of directors and officers included a new board chair for 2019/2020: Robert (Bert) Talerman, First Executive Vice President/Executive Lending Officer with Cape Cod Five Cents Savings Bank.  Co-Vice Chairs elected were Linda Markham, President of Cape Air/Nantucket Airlines, and Janet Feeney of DePaola & Begg PC.  Also elected were Lisa Oliver, President & CEO of The Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod as Treasurer and David Troutman of Scargo Café as Clerk. Larry Drago of Biz Checks Payroll will continue to serve as immediate past chair.
FY 20 Pillar Chairs will continue to be Bill Catania, President of Catania Hospitality for the  Destination Marketing/CVB pillar; Gail Knell of the Ebb Tide / The Sea View for the Membership Services pillar; and Eugene Curry, Esq. for the Blue Economy – Economic Development pillar.
New directors elected included James Tenaglia of Tenaglia/Gardiner Wealth Management Services, Betsy Rich of HyLine Cruises, Noelle Pina of the Orleans Chamber of Commerce, Gary Thulander of Chatham Bars Inn, Anne Scott-Putney of Heritage Museums & Gardens, Ryan O’Loughlin of The Davenport Companies, Carol Edmondson of Cape Cod Village Realty, and Emily Schorer of Cape Cod Healthcare.
Directors re-elected for another term include Melinda Gallant of Joe Gallant Fine Art, Bill Catania of Catania Hospitality, Shawn DeLude of Nauset Disposal, Gail Knell of Ebb Tide and Kathy Ohman of Kate’s Seafood.
The Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce is a membership organization whose mission is to strengthen and promote the regional economic vitality, cultural richness, environmental sensitivity and social needs of Cape Cod.
