The Massachusetts Department of Higher Education (DHE) approved Cape Cod Community College (CCCC) to teach-out the Associate of Science in Funeral Service formerly offered through Mount Ida College. The teach-out provides the continuation of funeral service academic programming for former Mount Ida students who are completing their degrees.
The College has partnered with Bridgewater State University, where the program will be located.  Before classes begin, the American Board of Funeral Service Education (ABFSE) must review and approve the College’s teach-out plan.  The review is scheduled for August.
Pending final approval, CCCC looks to start the first classes in October.
“We are very pleased to move forward with this program that will offer a pathway for former Mount. Ida students to complete their degrees,” stated President John Cox.
CCCC continues to move forward with the approval for on-going accreditation of the Funeral Service program for new students.
