Cape Cod Foundation To Present a Virtual Community Forum On Mental And Behavioral Health

Learn about how nonprofit organizations on Cape Cod are providing key services in the area of mental health when The Cape Cod Foundation presents a virtual community forum, “Mental and Behavioral Health Across Cape Cod”, Thursday, June 17, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

It is the third in a series of forums planned for 2021 to share information about the region’s current needs, resources, and opportunities for community engagement with a larger audience.

The forum is sponsored by RogersGray.

“For many, social isolation, feelings of uncertainty, emotional and physical loss, and the inability to access care have increased over the past year due to the pandemic,” said Kristin O’Malley, president and CEO of The Cape Cod Foundation. “In addition, unemployment, loss of housing, and food insecurity have added to the psychological burden of residents across every age and demographic, especially our most vulnerable populations.”

O’Malley said this forum will focus on how nonprofit organizations providing critical services in the areas of mental and behavioral health have been impacted and what challenges lie ahead.

Presenters who will join O’Malley for the forum are Allie Anderson, chief clinical officer of Gosnold, Inc.; Karen Gardner, CEO of Community Health Center of Cape Cod; and Cindy Horgan, executive director of Cape Cod Children’s Place.

The forum is free and open to all. It will also be recorded to share after the event. Register at capecodfoundation.org to attend or to receive a link to the recording.
