(Hyannis, October 10, 2019) – For the ninth consecutive year, Cape Cod Hospital (CCH) has been named one of America’s 100 Great Community Hospitals, according to a study by Becker’s Hospital Review. This recognition is based on quality of care and service to our community, and shows that the hospital is successfully and consistently achieving exceptional results in patient care and satisfaction.
Becker’s has published the list annually since 2011 and CCH has been included every year. For purposes of the list, Becker’s defines a “community hospital” as one with fewer than 550 beds that have minimal teaching programs.
The Becker’s Hospital Review editorial team selected hospitals based on several outside rankings and ratings organizations, including IBM Watson Health 100 Top Hospitals, iVantage Health Analytics and The Chartis Center for Rural Health’s Top 100 Rural & Community Hospitals, National Rural Health Association, CareChex ratings, Leapfrog Group grades, Healthgrades awards and CMS stars, among other considerations.
“We are proud and pleased that Cape Cod Hospital has again earned this distinction,” said Michael K. Lauf, President and CEO of Cape Cod Healthcare, the parent company of Cape Cod Hospital. “Everyone at Cape Cod Hospital played a part in this achievement, including our exceptional physicians, providers, nurses and support staff, who work so hard each and every day on behalf of our patients.”
Cape Cod Hospital is the only Massachusetts hospital on the Becker’s 100 Great Community Hospitals 2019 list. Becker’s Hospital Review features up-to-date business and legal news and analysis relating to hospitals and health systems.
