Cape Light Compact celebrates Energy Awareness Month with no-cost energy assessments and increased incentives for small businesses

South Yarmouth, MA – Cape Light Compact (Compact), local Mass Save® Sponsor, is celebrating Energy Awareness Month with no-cost energy assessments and increased incentives, of up to 90%, for eligible small businesses on Cape Cod and Martha’s Vineyard.
The Compact kicked off the month, by partnering with the Town of Chatham, Chatham Chamber of Commerce, Chatham Merchants Association, Oak Bluffs Association and the Town of Oak Bluffs to offer energy assessments to many small businesses on Energy Efficiency Day, October 2nd.
“Small business owners are always looking for ways to save on their monthly costs, in order to continue providing products and services to the community,” says Christine Todd, Director of the Oak Bluffs Association. “The energy assessments and incentives provided by the Compact allow businesses to lower their energy costs, which helps to increase their bottom line.”
Through a no-cost energy assessment, the Compact’s Energy Specialists will review the current energy use, such as lighting, refrigeration, HVAC and more, and provide the business with a customized report of energy efficiency recommendations. In addition, the business can realize instant savings through the installation of screw-in LED bulbs, thermostats, faucet aerators and more.
The limited time increased incentive of up to 90%, is only available to eligible businesses who call the Compact at 1-800-797-669 by October 31 to sign up for an energy assessment of their facility.
Energy efficiency programs are paid for through an energy efficiency charge on customers’ electric and/or natural gas bills.
