Carla Kessel Joins Elevate Counseling Services

Elevate Counseling Services, a practice serving clients via Telehealth and from locations in South Easton, Middleboro and Bellingham, announced that Carla Kessel of Hopedale has joined the practice’s Telehealth Division.

Kessel has more than three decades’ experience in the mental health and substance abuse field. She holds the LICSW (Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker) in Massachusetts and a similar credential for the State of Florida.

Carla KesselHer areas of specialty include individual and couples therapy, with specialty areas that include trauma, loss grief, parenting strategies and DSM-5 diagnostic.

Kessel earned her master’s degree in Social Work from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, and her bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Moorhead State University in Moorehead, Minn.

Prior to relocating to Massachusetts in 2009, she was the administrator for the Children’s Mental Health Program, in Bismarck, N.D. She administered the statewide program where she led, developed and implemented the statewide system of care for children’s mental health services (Wraparound), including children with serious emotional disorders and their families. Her role included writing testimony for legislative committees to secure funding for programs for children.

Her resume includes experience in all systems of care as a LICSW clinician, where she provided individual, couples and family therapy. She was also a child and family clinician for Catholic Charities, and from 2009 to 2016 had her own private practice.
