Harwich, MA – Cape Cod Young Professionals (CCYP), a 501(c)3 nonprofit that works to connect, engage, and advance Cape Cod’s young workforce and future leaders, will host the 14th Annual Community Breakfast event on Friday, November 8 from 7:30 AM to 9:30 AM at the Wequassett Resort & Golf Club in Harwich. Tickets are available through the CCYP website at www.capecodyoungprofessionals.org at a rate of $35 for CCYP members, or $45 for non-members. Attendees from all industries and experience levels are encouraged and welcome to attend. The Community Breakfast is presented with generous support from The Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod.
This year’s Annual Community Breakfast will provide the Cape’s young professional community, business leaders, and local government stakeholders with thought-provoking discussion and updates related to workforce development and the state of the local job market. In keeping with the “engage” pillar of CCYP’s mission, the event will emphasize the importance of civic engagement, community involvement, and volunteerism as a way to attract and retain top workforce talent on Cape Cod.
CCYP is pleased to welcome the Massachusetts Secretary of Labor and Workforce Development, Rosalin Acosta, as Keynote Speaker for the 2019 Community Breakfast event. Secretary Acosta will discuss recent state-level initiatives for workforce development and share information on the state of the workforce across Massachusetts and Cape Cod. The Secretary will share insight on how employers and communities around the state are navigating the challenges of an aging workforce, encouraging the retention of young workers, and increasing alignment between local industry needs and training opportunities.
During the event, CCYP will also present a “year-in-review” presentation focused on the organization’s progress in the area of civic engagement and recognize CCYP volunteers who have gone above and beyond over the past year.
