Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod provides $7500 in support of small business development workshops

The Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod provided a great boost to the Community Development Partnership by recently providing $7500 in support of the CDP’s Business and Credit Program.  This program offers trainings, technical assistance and mentoring opportunities to local businesses on the Lower and Outer Cape.
The Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod sponsorship will help to support the CDP’s fall workshop series, which includes “Marketing Your Business,” which is focused on attracting new customers as well as retaining existing ones through both tradition and non-traditional approaches; “Cape & Islands Green,” a workshop that explores employing more sustainable and eco-friendly business practices and “Connect & Grow,” an ongoing peer mentoring workshop.
“As a local, community bank, supporting our business owners is so important to us,” said Sheryl Walsh, Senior Vice President and Chief Consumer and Small Business Banking Officer. “We’re happy to partner with the Community Development Partnership to offer this series of workshops that will help our small businesses expand and grow. Providing education and resources to businesses in need is part of what community banking is all about. Whether it’s through lending support, or sponsoring a series like Marketing Your Business, we offer the resources Cape Cod businesses need.”
The CDP also provides one-on-one technical assistance trainings for small business owners that include everything from developing a business plan to ensuring best practices in personnel management.

ABOUT THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PARTNERSHIP
The Community Development Partnership supports an array of programs that strengthen our Lower Cape community, providing greater opportunities for all who live here to thrive.
Our work starts with creating affordable homes—so essential to a healthy economy, but a real challenge in communities like ours where seasonal and vacation dynamics drive the market beyond the reach of many who live and work locally all year round.
We also work to launch entrepreneurs and strengthen local businesses. We believe a vibrant future depends on sustaining traditional industries and inspiring new ones—especially when they’re based on renewable natural resources such as fishing, farming, art and hospitality.
In all that we do, we aim to protect the natural environment around us—preserving the character and sustaining the future of this special place we call home.
