“The New Bedford Economic Development Council invites entrepreneurs to attend the second of a series of six small business development webinars. “Massachusetts Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML)” to be held Thursday, Dec. 17 from 1 to 2 p.m.
Wendy Hansen, an attorney with Foley & Foley, PC will present an overview of the Massachusetts Paid Family and Medical Leave law that begins on Jan. 1, 2021.
Hansen will review the:
- Types of leave
- Employee eligibility
- Definitions of a serious health condition and family member
- Application process
- Role of the Department of Family and Medical Leave (DFML)
- Employer, job protections, wage calculations and exempt plan requirements
