The Family Pantry in Harwich is safely open for business and accepting new clients regardless of geographical location on Cape Cod. All are welcome during the pandemic. A brief registration with no documentation is required.
All food distribution is done curbside in order to maintain social distancing. All of our volunteers are required to wear masks, gloves, have temperature checks and maintain 6 feet of social distancing.
A family of four will receive between six and eight bags of groceries that include staples, fresh fruits, vegetables and protein (beef, pork, chicken). Clients are allowed to return to the pantry every 14 days to shop. Thirty percent of all food distributed is fresh produce. Clients will receive a shopping list to fill out, volunteers shop the order and return it to the curb for pick up. Hours for pick up are Tuesdays and Thursdays 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; Wednesdays and Saturdays, 10 a.m. to noon; and Thursday evenings 5 to 7 p.m.
The Family Pantry of Cape Cod is flexible and will allow friends or family members pick up for a client if they are unable to get to the Pantry.
