Family Pantry 2021 Summer Gala Set For July 11

The largest food pantry on Cape Cod is holding its Summer Gala virtually this year on Sunday, July 11 at 6 p.m.

The Family Pantry of Cape Cod provides food and clothing to those in need. Last year, the pantry provided services to more than 10,300 people and distributed more than 98,327 bags of food.

Sponsorships levels range from $175 to $10,000. Anyone interested in becoming one of the sponsors for this years Gala should contact Menard. Donations are always welcome and can be made online or by checks payable to: The Family Pantry of Cape Cod and sent to 133 Queen Anne Road, Harwich MA 02645. The Family Pantry of Cape Cod is a not-for-profit 501 (c) 3 organization.

This year’s honorees are:

Allen Harbor Yacht Club , Founders Award. This award recognizes a person or organization that demonstrates dedication and passion for helping their neighbors across the Cape. The Yacht Club has hosted the winter and summer Thanks for Giving dinner events for the past 27 years, donating over $175,000 to the Family Pantry’s food program. Club members work for weeks sourcing and preparing the summer and fall meals. Volunteers search the Cape for items to be donated to the silent and live auction, all to benefit the Family Pantry. 

Cape Cod Healthcare, 2021 President’s Award. The President’s Award recognizes a person or organization that has consistently demonstrated a significant commitment to the pantry’s mission of providing food and clothing to those in need.  The Cape Cod Healthcare Foundation has been a longtime supporter of the pantry’s Healthy Meals in Motion Mobile Pantry and the Fish for Families programs.  Cape Cod Healthcare’s commitment has provided over 440,000 meals for those in need.

Joseph R. Noland Jr.  of  Eversource  Energy, Thomas P. “Tip” O’Neill Award. This award is given to a person or organization that embodies all that Tip O’Neill stood for in his life as a legislator and human being.   Eversource’s mission is to deliver reliable energy and superior customer service in their daily work, in community service and leadership, and “in doing the right thing for our customers, co-workers, shareholders and the environment.”
