Greater Hyannis Chamber of Commerce President /CEO Jessica Sylver has announced that she will leave her position later this year.
After six years in a leadership role of helping to grow the Chamber and promote the Hyannis area, and 11 years total with the organization, Sylver will be taking on a new career challenge.
“My tenure at the Greater Hyannis Chamber of Commerce has been the most nurturing and professional growth experience. It has been a great privilege to serve its constituency. I thank the board for its trust in supporting my initiatives,” said Sylver.
“We truly appreciate Jessica’s efforts and accomplishments while representing our chamber. We cannot thank her enough for her commitment to our organization and community,” said Brenna Sullivan, Board Chair.
As the search for Sylver’s replacement begins, the Chamber’s 11 member board will meet to define the evolving vision and mission for the Chamber, including continuing to promote GHCC’s many popular events, maintain close ties to the Town of Barnstable officials, accrue additional member value, advocate for each of Barnstable’s seven villages, and promote tourism and visitation to each of the Town’s seven villages.
“Our board is committed to evaluating the needs of our members and community and moving in the direction that best suits those needs,” said Sullivan.
Moving forward, the Chamber’s board of directors will seize the opportunity to further hone the organization’s message, prospect for new initiatives benefitting its 600 members and the Town of Barnstable and further refine the trajectory inaugurated by Sylver. The board has appointed a task force to spearhead this transition.
