Heidrea for Heroes & Adams Communications partner to donate to hurricane relief efforts

Heidrea for Heroes, a 501(c)(3) veterans support non-profit organization, and Carver-based Adams Communications announced they have partnered to donate $1,000 to Team Rubicon for Hurricane Harvey relief efforts in Texas.
In response to the widespread devastation left behind by Hurricane Harvey in the Houston area, both Heidrea for Heroes and Adams Communications were compelled to help financially with the recovery and clean up efforts.  Team Rubicon, whose mission is to unite the skills and experiences of military veterans with first responders to rapidly deploy emergency response teams, was quick to send crews into Texas immediately following the hurricane strike.  The commonality between the organizations was a key factor in selecting Team Rubicon for their donation; both Heidrea for Heroes and Team Rubicon were each founded by two Marine Corps veterans, and both organizations work to alleviate unexpected hardships.
“The need for assistance in south Texas is incredibly high right now, and it’s great to see how a fellow non-profit organization, led by veterans, is making a real difference on the ground right now” said Jesse Brown, Co-Founder of Heidrea for Heroes.  Brown said they reached out to John Adams, President of Adams Communications, who is also a veteran and Adams quickly agreed to support the cause.
“It’s in our nature as Americans to help fellow Americans in crisis. So, we wanted to do something for Harvey victims. Additionally, as a veteran-owned and operated business, AdamsComm is always looking for a way to help vets. When Heidrea for Heroes approached us with an opportunity to help hurricane victims through Team Rubicon, it was a win-win,” said Adams.
According to their website updates, Team Rubicon deployed 330 crew members to Texas in the wake of Hurricane Harvey, serving in the communities of Beaumont, Rockport, Port Arthur, Magnolia, Friendswood, Katy, and Wharton, TX, while the area command is stationed at the Combined Arms Center in Houston.  They conducted thousands of drive-by and door-to-door damage assessments and are tackling hundreds of requests for assistance.  The donation given by Heidrea for Heroes and Adams Communications will support their critical work of helping residents to rebuild their homes and communities.
