EforAll Cape Cod hosted its inaugural Pitch Contest themed “All Ideas” at CapeSpace coworking space in Hyannis on Thursday August 23, 2018. Twenty-one businesses applied to give a two-and-a-half minute pitch for cash prizes, and eight were selected to share their business or non-profit ideas. The event’s judges were Cape Cod business leaders and included Amanda Converse, Sean Fitzpatrick, Brendan Mahoney, Lynn Shields, and Jen Villa.
The Prize Winners Were:
Orchid Skin Care Company, First Place: $1000
Nicole Perullo of Fairhaven, MA has created Orchid Skin Care Company, which uses a monthly subscription model for at-home facial kits including personalized, online consultations.
Have a Ball Carry All™, Second Place and Fan Favorite: $750 & $500
MaryRose Lynch of Eastham, MA created a fun multipurpose clip-on case shaped like a ball. Clip to your bag, belt, dog’s leash or collar and let the Have a Ball Carry All carry a tennis ball. Then use the case to pick up and dry a wet slobbery ball. Raised knobs in the interior lift the ball so that air circulates to dry that soggy tennis ball, or use the case to carry pet biscuits or pet bags. 4 designs bring awareness to 4 charities who also receive a donation from profits. Green Road Refill, Third Place: $500
Jessica Georges of Brewster, MA created a company called Green Road Refill which is is a mobile retail store on a converted bus (the Bettie Bus). Green Road Refill sells earth conscious products with the focus on refill. They have over 30 different soaps, shampoos, lotions and cleaning products all sold by the weighed ounce. Customers support the environment by purchasing plant-based eco friendly products while reducing their plastic footprint one bottle at a time!
