Habitat for Humanity of Cape Cod will host its 4th annual Ride for Homes fundraising bike ride Sunday, Sept. 26.

The ride begins at 7:30 a.m. and the start and finish are from the Aptucxet Trading Post Museum in Bourne.

In 2020, 80 riders raised more than $100,000 to help build affordable homes for local Cape Cod families.

Riders have the option of riding a 20-mile scenic route from the Aptuxcet Trading Post Museum along the Cape Cod Canal and around Mashnee Island or a 12-mile route along the Cape Cod Canal. There will be a breakfast BBQ following the Ride. The registration fee is $25, and the fund-raising minimum is $300. All registered riders by Sept. 1 will receive $150 towards their $300 fundraising minimum, thanks to the generous support of the Lynn Mormann Family Foundation.

In the past 30 years, Habitat for Humanity of Cape Cod has developed more than 150 affordable homes on Cape Cod. Local families help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. And the Homes are deed restricted to remain affordable in perpetuity.
