Hyannis –Love Live Local kicks off their 12th season of their tri-annual Love Local Fests at Aselton Park on July 28. This festive gathering showcases the unique charm of Cape Cod with local makers, musicians, and deliciously crafted food and beverages, all set against a stunning waterfront backdrop.
The 2024 Love Local Fests take place on the last Sundays in July and September from 11am-5pm on Aselton Park overlooking the Hyannis Harbor, and the first Saturday in December on the Hyannis Village Green. This year they are generously sponsored by Cape Cod 5, Housing Assistance Corporation/Housing to Protect Cape Cod, Avangrid Renewables, Devil’s Purse Brewing Company, Truro Vineyards and True North Events Rentals. The events feature over 80 local artists, artisans, and brands who pop-up for the day, as well as food trucks and a craft beverage garden featuring libations from Devil’s Purse Brewing Company and Truro Vineyards.
These events have become a yearly staple for thousands who live on and visit the Cape. One festival goer who is also a local business owner says that “it’s great to see returning customers excited to return to the Fest and new customers amazed that all of the great products are made on Cape Cod.” Another attendee says they love everything about the Love Local Fest “talking to the vendors and having a drink, listening to good music all while my kids play in the park!”
What started as an event dedicated to providing Cape Cod based makers and brands with a venue to connect with customers in downtown Hyannis is Love Live Local’s mission come to life, explains the organization’s Executive Director, Amanda Converse: “we are grateful that for so many summer seasons attendees have connected to the distinct sense of community and place that we work hard to foster, along with embracing the messages about the importance of supporting small business to our local economy.”
The event has also provided an important opportunity for hundreds of local artisans from across Cape Cod to connect to customers and to each other. Caroline Laye, creator of Atlantic Soap Co. says “The July Fest is truly my favorite event on my Summer calendar. I get to reconnect with customers and friends, some of whom I only see once a year at the Fest, and I always enjoy the community atmosphere, fun and laughter.”
The event is family-friendly with a myriad of lawn games in the park and a kid’s zone run by the Cape Cod Maritime Museum. Participants will be able to climb aboard a fire truck and attend a story time presented by Positopia. All of this and more will be stationed on their back patio and activities are for all ages to enjoy!
Also fun for the family, local bands Rafael Cares & Seth Silva (11:30am) and Nikki & the Barn Boys (2:30pm) will be curating the summer vibes from center stage.
