Nantucket’s Christmas Stroll Gets Go-Ahead for December

The Town of Nantucket has approved Nantucket’s 47th Annual Christmas Stroll 2021, including the Tree Lighting on Friday, Nov. 26, with more than 100 decorated Christmas trees aligning Main Street, and caroling at dusk. 

The following weekend, the Christmas Stroll will feature a visit by Santa Claus, Santa’s Village Marketplace, entertainment, the Red Ticket program and more. Stroll Saturday will feature a variety of live entertainment to enliven Main Street, which will be   pedestrian-only that day. There will be craft shows, performances, special dinners at island restaurants, tours and exhibitions. 

The Nantucket Chamber’s Red Ticket program, running Nov. 1 through Dec. 24, features merchants dispensing one red ticket for every $25 spent and two red tickets on Double Red Ticket Days (Nov. 27 and Dec. 11). The Red Ticket Drawing will take place on Christmas Eve at 3 p.m. with five winners of cash prizes of $1,000 each and one $5,000 winner. To promote shopping locally, participating businesses may host their own Double Red Tickets days, which will be announced on the chamber’s social media pages. Nantucket Historical Association’s traditional Festival of Trees 2021 will offer decorated Christmas trees on display from Dec. 3 through 31 throughout the Whaling Museum.
