Dan and Stephanie, a popular radio duo who for years entertained listeners with their banter on WCOD after massive layoffs in January by the station’s corporate owners, iHeart Media , have returned to the airwaves this week on Cape Cod’s Mix 96, a new digital radio station.
Mix 96 is a completely digital experience that will allow fans to tune in through an app, available online and in the App Store, Play Store, and on Alexa, giving everyone the opportunity to join in at home, at work, or even in the car on the go, said co-owner and Station Manager Shauna Mahoney.
Dan Mahoney and Stephanie Viva will host “Dan & Stephanie in the Morning,” which features contemporary music. The duo has more than a combined 25 years of expertise and is looking forward to their new venture.
“After our departure back in January, I knew there would be another beginning,” said Dan Mahoney, who co-owns the station with his wife Shauna. “Local communications have never been more important than at a time like this. So we decided to utilize our talent, and going the digital route, we are excited to bring back our show to continue to serve our amazing listeners and our community. We will be the same fun show as always. Can’t wait to start this chapter, in this new age of ways to be heard.”
“For the last 17 years Dan and I have built a relationship with the people of Cape Cod and while I was devastated to see that come to end, in these crazy times, we could not be more excited to come back and connect to the community we love so much,” added Viva. “Our community demanded it, and we couldn’t be happier to bring fun lightheartedness back into their mornings; we owe them that. We have more stories to tell and more laughs to share!”
Locally renowned disc jockeys, national disc jockeys and surprise guests will be appearing regularly.
