GCJH, Inc. has taken over the operations of WGTX-FM (102.3), known as The Dunes, licensed to Truro, beginning a new chapter in the station’s long broadcast history on Cape Cod. The final closing of the sale will be completed this week.

As of March 29, the station began airing a format “tease,” described as “all over the road,” and feature music and artists across many different genres, said station manager Gary Hanna.

“We want to have a little fun, in the spirit of April 1 , and get listeners to start talking about us…hopefully in a good way!” said Hanna.

Wednesday, March 31 , the station will be off the air for maintenance and equipment upgrades,
returning to the airwaves with the brand-new sound and format on Thursday, April 1 . The station’s new website, x1023.fm will also go live. The station will be introducing the new on-air staff on the morning of Monday, April 5, as well as running a tune-in contest where two winners will split $1,000.

“We’re so excited to be part of the Cape community and look forward to entertain and amuse listeners along with helping to promote local businesses and organizations,” added Hanna.

Station offices will be located in Brewster. For additional information or questions, contact Jon Krongard, general manager at jon.krongard@x1023.fm.
