OpenCape, a Barnstable-based nonprofit organization, which is improving broadband access, reliability and affordability for businesses and residences across Cape Cod, the Islands and Southeastern Massachusetts through its fiber optic network, has retained the services of Carol McLeod Design and Greenough Brand Storytellers as it continues. The agencies will provide messaging, website design, marketing support and public relations.

“This has been a pivotal year for OpenCape as we hit significant milestones, including businesses signing up for the Falmouth Main Street initiative and our first fiber-enabled residential units in Hyannis,” said OpenCape CEO Steven Johnston. “Then there’s COVID-19, which has put a spotlight on constrained bandwidth as more people permanently work from home. All this creates opportunity to amplify our story, and we’re pleased to have such capable partners to support our company’s core objectives and goals.”

OpenCape provides broadband services over its network to public and private companies and entities, from small businesses and hospitals to libraries, government buildings, schools, colleges and public safety agencies. As of June 1, OpenCape maintains 550 miles of fiber optic network across Southeastern Massachusetts and parts of Rhode Island and is now piloting programs to connect residences to its network.
