The 2nd annual Perfect Pitch MV will be held on Tuesday, May 15 at the Baylies Room in the Old Whaling Church from 6:30-8pm.   Thirteen brave Island entrepreneurs will compete in a “Shark Tank” style pitch contest, competing for $8,000 in prize money!
The Contest format is:  Participants will have three minutes to pitch their concept to three judges, who will have two additional minutes to ask questions before moving on to the next applicant.  At the conclusion of the pitches, the judges will convene to select the three cash prize winners, first place at $5,000, one second place at $2,000 and one third place at $1,000.
“Contestants range from high school students to retirees, and once again, no two ideas are alike,” said Nancy Gardella, Director of the Martha’s Vineyard Chamber of Commerce.  “Each applicant has an exciting, worthwhile business idea to the contest.  Supporting start-ups is just another way economic development on the Vineyard can continue to thrive.”
The panel of judges are James Anthony, President and CEO of the Martha’s Vineyard Savings Bank, Brian Skidmore of Harborside Realty and Ann Smith Executive Director at Featherstone Center for the Arts and co-founder of Arts Martha’s Vineyard.
It’s free and open to the public, and all Islanders are invited to come and cheer on these creative entrepreneurs.
