HANOVER — Pickles NE, a new indoor, first-of-its-kind, state-of-the-art, climate-controlled pickleball-only complex, will have its grand opening Friday, March 12, at 8 a.m. at 357 Columbia Road in Hanover.

The 25,000-square-foot premier pickleball facility in New England features six climate-controlled, indoor tournament-sized courts, two indoor dinking practice courts, a players’ lounge with viewing deck, an indoor refreshment garden and a retail shop.  Four outdoor courts will also be added later in the summer.

Hours of the complex are Sundays through Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.  In honor of the grand opening, Pickles’ first week of operation will feature a drop-in only schedule, from Friday, March 12, through Thursday, March 18.

As of Friday, March 19, drop-in times will be available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.; Monday through Thursday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from noon to 4 p.m.  Other times will be reserved for private court rentals and league play.

Pickles offers two levels of membership as well as non-member status.  Memberships offer individuals reduced drop-in and private court rental fees and the ability to enter into league play.  Non-members can also participate in drop-in play and private court rentals.

Pickles was founded by Lisa DeMeritt and Wanda Melampy – two women with a love for the sport of pickleball and the observation that there is a definite lack of indoor courts exclusively dedicated to the sport of pickleball in New England.
