Polhemus Savery DaSilva Architects Builders (PSD) has announced that they are one of this year’s recipients of a Baker-Polito Administration Workforce Training Fund Program Grant. PSD was awarded $66,495 to provide seven training modules targeted across company departments and at all levels of the team. Four additional PSD jobs are expected to be added by 2020.
The WTFP provides grants of up to $250,000 annually to businesses for incumbent worker training projects across the Commonwealth. The mission of the WTFP is to promote job growth, job retention, and increased opportunity for workers by advancing business productivity, competitiveness, and the ability to do business in Massachusetts.
Since the beginning of the Baker-Polito Administration, the Workforce Training Fund Program has awarded more than 470 grants totaling over $47.7 million. These grants have been used to train more than 34,000 workers from over 600 different Massachusetts businesses, resulting in over 4,000 new jobs. This year, 68 companies were awarded grants to help close high demand skills gaps in the Commonwealth, providing their employees with the training they need to thrive in the 21st century economy.
