“Premium Heritage Experience” and “Rides in Cars” at Heritage Museums & Gardens Give Visitors Memorable Experiences

Imagine going inside the historic windmill at Heritage, looking under the hood of a classic automobile, or taking a garden tour with a horticulture expert. These and other experiences—including a ride in a 1950 Ford from the museum’s collection—are available through two new programs at Heritage Museums & Gardens: the Premium Heritage Experience and Rides in Cars.
“Because there’s so much to see and do at Heritage, this season our visitors can enjoy a Premium Heritage Experience that gives them behind-the-scenes access, inside information, and fun, interactive experiences with our collections, gardens, and exhibits,” said Ellen Spear, President and CEO at Heritage Museums & Gardens. “Rides in Cars gives visitors a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to ride in one of the historic cars from our collection.”
The Premium Heritage Experience is offered twice daily, at 11 am and 1:30 pm, through September 17. Each 90-minute, concierge-led experience is customized, providing visitors with a personalized visit matched to their areas of interest. Visitors will go where the general public doesn’t, get inside information, have conversations with experts in gardening, history, and art, and engage in fun, interactive, and hands-on activities inclusive of all ages, from grandparents to toddlers. The cost is $25 per person for non-members, and $10 per person for Heritage members. Tickets can be purchased in advance of a visit to Heritage, or at the ticket window daily.
Rides in Cars features the opportunity for visitors to be taken on a fun ride along the paved pathways on Heritage’s grounds in an historic vehicle from its collection.  “Heritage’s gems of the automotive world don’t just look cool; they can take you on an amazing journey,” said Spear. “This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that visitors will be talking about for a long time.” The cost of the ride, which presents a great opportunity for fun photos and learning more about the car, is $10 per person. Because the ride is weather-dependent, tickets are available only on the day rides are scheduled. Check Heritage’s Facebook and Twitter sites, and at the admissions kiosk and ticket window for availability. Rides in Cars, which is sponsored by the Arbella Insurance Foundation, runs through September 17.
Heritage is grateful for the support of the 2017 lead sponsor, the Arbella Insurance Foundation. The 2017 season runs from April 15-October 9. Open daily, 10 am-5 pm. More information is available online at heritagemuseumsandgardens.org or by calling 508-888-3300.
