Raising Awareness for Veterans Across the Cape

There are 27,000 veterans living on Cape Cod and although they are far from the battlefields now, many are still fighting serious issues upon their return home, like financial struggles, injury, mental illness, homelessness and others. As a participant in the 3rd Annual Charter Cup Fishing Tournament, in which all participating businesses raise a certain amount of funds for a charity of their choice, team members at Mid-Cape Home Centers overwhelmingly voted to support Cape & Islands Veterans Outreach Center.
Cape & Islands Veterans Outreach Center, also known as CIVOC, is a 100% non-profit organization that provides help in times of trouble for local veterans. CIVOC has recognized that there is a lack of community support for local veterans and they have stepped up to lend a helping hand. They offer help in finding services such as counseling for those battling mental illness. They provide financial assistance and support, a transitional housing program, a program for incarcerated veterans, support for families of veterans, access to employment and education, as well as so much more. “For Mid-Cape Home Centers, it is all about ‘Experience that Builds’ convenience, trust, and communities. Building the community requires creating more than just a positive transactional experience for customers and community members. It is going above and beyond the call of duty as a local business, reaching out to those who are in need of help, and raising awareness of their struggles” Shares Crystal Pieschel, Marketing Director for Mid-Cape Home Centers. In an effort to create an awareness among their customers and the public of what our local veterans’ needs are, Mid-Cape has wrapped two of their delivery trucks in honor of veterans.
Mid-Cape’s latest Truck-for-a-Cause endeavors have been catching the eyes of many on the Cape, as well as in Middleboro and the surrounding areas with its second veterans-related Truck-for-a-Cause. Furthermore, Mid-Cape is collecting donations at their Customer Service and Contractor Sales counters at every location in exchange for a reusable bag. If you are interested in donating, drop by a Mid-Cape location or visit the Go Fund Me page dedicated to this cause: https://www.gofundme.com/help-support-local-veterans.
