Robert B. Our Co. wins regional award

Robert B. Our Company, based in Harwich, Massachusetts, has received the New England Chapter of American Public Works Association’s Project of the Year Award for its work on the town of Eastham’s municipal water project. The award was presented May 24 at the chapter’s National Public Works Week Commemorative Scholarship Luncheon in East Weymouth, Mass.
Robert B. Our crews of 10 to 15 worked on the approximately $130 million project led by Environmental Partners Group Inc., the project engineer. The total work of Robert B. Our amounts to about $12.5 million.
“Their work included construction of two well pumping stations, many miles of water main, hydrants, valves, and service connections,” explained Ryan J. Trahan, principal at Environmental Partners. “Throughout the project, Robert B. Our demonstrated responsiveness and proceeded with the work expeditiously. Their quality of work and attention to detail allowed them to complete the work within budget and ahead of schedule. They have been a pleasure to work with.”
Eastham had been the only town on Cape Cod without a municipal water system.
The first phase of the was approved by 2014 town meeting and voters subsequently approved Phase 2 of the project in 2015.  Residents in some areas of town began receiving water in fall 2016.
Eastham has a year-round population of about 5,700 residents and draws more than 20,000 seasonal visitors.
The American Public Works Association serves professionals in all aspects of public works and has a worldwide membership of more than 28,500 personnel from local, county, state/province and federal agencies, as well as private sector personnel who supply products and services to those professionals.
