South Shore Chamber of Commerce names Richard W. Fernandez, President & CEO of Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Milton, to term on Board of Directors

ROCKLAND, MILTON, NEEDHAM, MA, ISSUED JANUARY 10, 2018…The South Shore Chamber of Commerce today announced that Richard W. Fernandez, President & CEO of Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Milton, has been elected to a three-year term on its Board of Directors.
In this capacity, Fernandez will work with South Shore Chamber President and CEO Peter Forman, Board of Directors Chairman James Dunphy and fellow board members to help oversee the general strategy and direction for the Chamber.
Fernandez joined Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Milton as President & CEO in January of 2017; previously he was the Senior Vice President of Ambulatory Services with Brigham & Women’s Health Care in Boston.
A graduate of the University of North Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Psychology, Fernandez earned his Master’s in Business Administration from Temple University.
Fernandez is a sought-after speaker on the healthcare industry, most recently giving presentations at the Athena Health National User Conference in Boston and as a member of the Advisory Board at the Crimson Practice Management National Member Summit in Chicago.  He is a present member of the Medical Group Management Association and the American College of Healthcare Executives- Massachusetts.
A resident of Needham, Fernandez is a long-time participant in the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s Pan Mass Challenge, having raised more than $100,000.   He also serves on the Board of Directors of the MassHire South Shore Career Center.
