South Shore Habitat For Humanity Names Lyons Executive Director

South Shore Habitat for Humanity has announce that Beth Lyons of Duxbury has been named the organization’s new executive director. She had served as Interim Executive Director since March 2020.

In this role, Lyons will lead the Habitat team toward achieving their mission of serving, advocating for and advancing their work to create and preserve more affordable homeownership opportunities for families and communities.

Prior to joining South Shore Habitat in 2017, Lyons, a native of Hingham, spent more than 30 years working in the nonprofit sector. She held leadership positions with Homes for Our Troops, Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children and spent 17 years working as a consultant with various nonprofits throughout the United States. During her three years at South Shore Habitat, she has been instrumental in fostering relationships and building awareness throughout the communities.

“Beth has done an amazing job leading our affiliate through the difficult time of COVID-19,” said board President Sharon Mutrie.  “She has helped us to navigate these challenges and we have come out stronger than ever expected.  Her commitment to excellence has shown through in everything.  The board is very excited to have Beth take on the role of executive director. She brings a great mix of skills and work experience that will help move South Shore Habitat for Humanity into our next phase,”
