South Shore Habitat for Humanity has moved its annual “Ride/Walk/Run for Habitat” fundraiser to Wompatuck State Park in Hingham. The family-friendly event is Saturday, Sept. 18, from 8 to 11:30 a.m.

“We invite everyone to meet up at the Transfer Station in Wompatuck State Park any time between 8 and 11:30 a.m.,” says Habitat’s Development Officer Jill Tompkins. “The event is designed for all ages and skill levels. We plotted 1.5, 5 and 10 mile routes that you can ride, walk or run as many laps as you’d like.”

Participants are also encouraged to tailgate during the event. Bring your own picnic or enjoy breakfast and lunch choices for sale by All Purpose Bakery & Grill.

“It’s an exciting change to our annual fundraiser that opens up the event to the whole family,” says SSHH Executive Director Beth Lyons. “Now everyone in the community can lend their support and help make home ownership possible for families in need on the South Shore.”
