The Cape Cod Foundation hosts its annual non-event

For local nonprofit organizations, the appeal of summer is often the summer appeal:  fundraising. While the weather is warm, and the people are here, the Cape’s nonprofits fill up summer calendars with galas, golf tournaments, road races, auctions and other donor-centric events to financially fuel their good works.
The Cape Cod Foundation, the hub of the nonprofit community, takes an untraditional approach to fundraising by hosting its annual Non-Event.
“It’s the best party you’ll never attend,” said Kristin O’Malley, the Foundation’s President and CEO.  “The slightly irreverent invitation we extend to our donors this time of year gives them the opportunity to support the work of the Foundation without the obligation of attending an actual event.”
O’Malley says the cost-effective Non-Event supports the Foundation’s civic leadership initiatives which directly impact local nonprofit organizations. “The discretionary funds we raise support essential work in the Cape Cod community,” she says.
She says the Foundation uses its resources to award grants to nonprofits, create nonprofit education and leadership development opportunities, power up partnerships with broad regional impact and bring vital, shared resources to Cape Cod’s nonprofit community.
Sponsors for this year’s Non-Event include:  Wood Lumber Company (Gold); itWORKS! (Bronze) and La Tanzi, Spaulding & Landreth, LLP (Bronze).
Anyone interested in contributing to the Non-Event can donate online at capecodfoundation.org or mail a check to The Cape Cod Foundation at 261 White’s Path, Unit 2; South Yarmouth, 02664.
