The Chatham Fund announces grant opportunities

The Chatham Fund of The Cape Cod Foundation is now accepting applications for grants from nonprofit organizations serving the town.  The application process is entirely online at capecodfoundation.org. The deadline is October 15 at midnight.
While the Fund’s Advisory Committee will consider funding proposals for all types of projects and programs that support Chatham residents, it gives priority to those that address one or more of the following: hunger, children’s needs, the environment, and other social needs, including, but not limited to, housing, healthy-aging, transportation, and economic security.
This is the Fund’s sixth year of grantmaking.  Last year, it awarded $30,000 to ten local nonprofit organizations: Chatham Marconi Maritime Center; Chatham Orpheum Theater; Creative Arts Center; The Family Pantry of Cape Cod; First Night Chatham; Homeless Prevention Council; Lower Cape Outreach Council; Mass Audubon Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary, Monomoy Community Services; and Pleasant Bay Boating.
A group of residents established The Chatham Fund at The Cape Cod Foundation to build a permanent endowment for the town through private donations and to provide grants to nonprofit organizations that enhance the quality of life in the community.  Since 2013, the Fund has invested $92,845 back into the Chatham community.
The Chatham Fund is one of three town funds affiliated with The Cape Cod Foundation. During the last grant cycles, The Falmouth Fund distributed nearly $100,000 in grants, while The Fund for Sandwich awarded $2,500 to nonprofits serving the town in its inaugural year of grantmaking.
