Hyannis, MA (October 12, 2018) — The Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod announced the promotion of Lee Ann Hesse to Chief Engagement Officer. Hesse formerly served as the bank’s Chief Human Resources Officer and has been with the bank in various capacities since 2013.
In the newly created position of Chief Engagement Officer, Hesse will be responsible for the engagement of employees through oversight of HR; client engagement through oversight of marketing and public relations; and community engagement through oversight of philanthropy. She’ll also play an integral role in managing the bank’s newest philanthropic program, which is in development and will build upon the bank’s long-time commitment of reinvesting in the local community. Christina Bologna, the bank’s Marketing Officer, will work closely with Hesse on these initiatives.
“As a part of our senior leadership team, Lee Ann has demonstrated continued leadership, strategic thinking, and outstanding communication skills,” said Lisa Oliver, President of The Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod.  “She has also demonstrated a strong commitment to supporting the local community through her work at the bank and through her personal commitments.  She was the ideal candidate to head up this new position and I’m confident she’ll continue bringing new and creative ways to engage our customers, employees, media, community and other stakeholders.”
Hesse joined The Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod in 2013 as Human Resources Officer. Prior to that she held roles in HR and Marketing with other community banks and provided HR consulting to small businesses as an independent contractor for three years.  She is a Board Member of the JFK Hyannis Museum and a Committee Member of the Barnstable Land Trust, a former Committee Member of the YMCA, and a former Board Member of the Cape and Islands Workforce Investment Board. She received her BA from Bates College and currently lives in West Barnstable.
“I’m thrilled to take on this new position, which will allow me to lead more teams and increase my engagement both with customers and the community”, said Hesse. “I’m especially excited about the opportunity to oversee the bank’s philanthropic initiatives. The Coop’s longstanding commitment to giving back to the community is one of the reasons I joined the bank several years ago. I look forward to playing a role in furthering that mission.”
