The Fund For Sandwich Awards $5,000 To Nonprofits

The Fund for Sandwich of The Cape Cod Foundation recently awarded $5,000 in grants to six organizations serving the Sandwich community.

This year’s recipients are:

  • Alzheimer’s Family Caregiver Support Center, $1,000 to support free services to Sandwich residents living with dementia;
  • Child and Family Services, $1,000 to support families within the Sandwich community;Sandwich Council on Aging, $1,000 to support its Transitional Assistance Fund;
  • Sandwich Public Schools, $500 tp support its Lifeguard Training Program
    The Community Health Center of Cape Cod, $1,000 to expand and increase access to care for Sandwich residents;
  • WE CAN, $500 to support work and financial empowerment services for clients and volunteer recruitment and
    outreach in Sandwich.

Last Spring, The Fund for Sandwich also created a COVID-19 Rapid Response Fund to help residents impacted by the pandemic. It raised and distributed more than $13,000 to local nonprofits to help meet the increased demand for food, extend services to seniors in need, and provide emergency financial assistance to residents for rent, mortgage payments, and other basic needs.

The Fund’s Advisory Committee will continue to seek private donations to support the wide range of nonprofit organizations serving the Sandwich community and will conduct a fifth grantmaking process in 2021 to support additional organizations.
