Yarmouth Rotary Donates $15,000 To Pandemic Relief

The Rotary Club of Yarmouth Foundation has donated $15,000 to help local organizations deal with the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The foundation board unanimously supported donations to the Yarmouth Food Pantry, Cape Kids Meals, Massachusetts Military Support Foundation and Cape Cod Elder Services. The foundation board also approved the purchase of $2,500 in gift cards to local supermarkets. The gift cards will be distributed to individuals and families who are in need of support in Yarmouth.

“The members of this club have always stepped up and helped others in need,” said club President Gerald Carey.  “We knew that we needed to do something to help and we are happy to make the donations and help where we can.”

Members of the club are very active and continue to provide assistance to Meals on Wheels as well as Champ Homes in Hyannis. In line with their mission, members met at Yarmouth Town Hall to build plant beds and plant flowers to enhance the area. Social distancing protocols were followed that day and the resulting flower and plant beds will be a welcomed addition.
