Yarmouth Chamber of Commerce Leads Regional Chamber Consortium Workforce Training Initiative with $58,080 Grant

YARMOUTH, MA — November 6, 2026 — The Yarmouth Chamber of Commerce has been awarded a $58,080 Workforce Training Fund grant to lead a two-year regional workforce development initiative in partnership with 10 other regional Chambers of Commerce.

The consortium includes the Yarmouth, Dennis, Orleans, Cape Cod Canal Region, Eastham, Provincetown, Brewster, Mashpee, Sandwich, Greater Hyannis, and Chatham chambers of commerce. Together, these organizations represent over 3,200 businesses across Cape Cod, creating a strong regional network to support employers, strengthen the workforce, and promote economic growth.

The two-year initiative will provide workforce training to participating Chamber leaders and staff, strengthening their ability to support local businesses and contribute to regional economic development. Training will focus on artificial intelligence and digital tools, strategic board leadership and regional economic development, regional marketing and program collaboration, and succession planning and leadership development. Through shared learning and practical application, participating Chambers aim to strengthen member engagement and retention, enhance organizational effectiveness, and expand regional partnerships.

“Cape Cod businesses face unique workforce challenges, and collaboration gives us an opportunity to make a greater impact,” said Mary Vilbon, President and CEO of the Yarmouth Chamber of Commerce. “By investing in the leadership, skills, and collaboration of our Chamber teams, we are strengthening our ability to support local employers, connect resources, and contribute to a more resilient regional economy.”

As the lead organization, the Yarmouth Chamber of Commerce will coordinate the consortium’s efforts with its regional partners throughout the two-year grant period. The program will combine virtual and in-person training with regional collaborative learning sessions, allowing Chamber professionals to exchange ideas, practice new approaches, and strengthen partnerships across Cape Cod. Training will be facilitated by Core XP Business Solutions, with grant administration support provided by National Training Associates.

The award reflects the Commonwealth of Massachusetts’ continued investment in workforce development through the Workforce Training Fund, which supports employers in developing employee skills and building stronger, more competitive businesses.
The Yarmouth Chamber of Commerce looks forward to working with its consortium partners, National Training Associates and Core Business XP Solutions, to strengthen Chamber leadership, expand opportunities for member businesses, and contribute to a stronger, more resilient regional economy.
