Cape Cod, MA: January is National Mentoring Month and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cape Cod & the Islands (BBBSCCI) is gearing up to celebrate at Cape Cod Beer. The agency’s annual event, now rebranded, Magic of Mentoring, is being held Thursday, January 30th from 5:30pm-8pm. Year seven of the event plans to celebrate the agency’s 400+ current volunteer Bigs with an evening of music, food, libations and auction items.
“We are so grateful to our friends at Cape Cod Beer for opening their venue up to our volunteers,” said JR Mell, Regional Director with BBBS. “Our Bigs are the cornerstone of our mission—giving just a few hours of their time every month makes a huge impact in the lives of their Little. This January we want to say thank you!”
The evening will feature raffle items, light appetizers, a cash bar, and a free drink ticket for current mentors, or those who sign up to become a mentor that night. BBBSCCI encourages those who have considered volunteering to attend and meet current mentors and staff in a no pressure environment. More information can be found at BBBSCCI’s social media channels (@capebigs) and RSVPs can be made online: https://shorturl.at/rnnTw
With more than 80 kids waiting for a mentor on the Cape and Islands, 51 of them boys, BBBS is especially in need of male volunteers. The event is free, pre-registration is suggested, and guests must be 21 or older to attend.
