HYANNIS, MA, ISSUED July 30, 2025…… The 9th Annual Charter Cup Fishing Tournament raised $490,000 for twenty-two non-profits.

The 9th Annual Charter Cup Fishing Tournament held on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 raised $490,000 for twenty-two non-profits with 100% of all funds raised going directly to the participating charities: Angel Flight NE sponsored by Andy Reardon & R A Villani, Inc.; Barnstable Police K9 Foundation sponsored by Tavano Mechanical Systems & The Maffei Companies; Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cape Cod & the Islands sponsored by Barnstable Police Department & New England Shutter Mills; Cape Abilities sponsored by Jaxtimer Landscaping, LLC & Pella Windows & Doors; Cape Wellness Collaborative sponsored by Cape Cod Financial Services & Turner Brothers, LLC; Habitat for Humanity of Cape Cod sponsored by Shepley Wood Products & First Light Fishing Charters; Housing Assistance Corp. sponsored by Coastal Medical Transportation Services & Cape Save Weatherization; Joslin Diabetes Center sponsored by E.J. It was a great day for fishing and fundraising with 30 boats and over 150 anglers. The day ended at Baxter’s Fish ‘N Chips, Hyannis, with an award ceremony and a live auction that raised $41,850 to benefit Alzheimer’s Family Support Center of Cape Cod, Big Nick’s Ride for the Fallen, Cape Cod Challenger Club, Cape & Islands Veterans Outreach Center, Cape Kid Meals, Homeless Not Hopeless, and The Family Pantry of Cape Cod. The heaviest bluefish award went to Joslin Diabetes Center, the heaviest striped bass award went to Tommy’s Place, and the heaviest tuna award went to Cape Wellness Collaborative. In addition, the Battle of the Badges heaviest striped bass award went to Tommy’s Place and the heaviest bluefish award went to the Barnstable Police K9 Foundation. The sportsmanship award was given to Jeff Perry for volunteering his time to coordinate the Battle of the Badges and his continued contributions to the tournament and the Cape Cod community.

“Together, we raised almost a half a million dollars for our community and people in need. Since 2017, the tournament has raised over $2.7 million dollars and for that I am very grateful. I would like to thank all of the sponsors, donors, participants, and volunteers that made this day a success. A special thank you goes to the Baxter Family and Baxter’s Fish ‘N Chips for their generosity and dedication to supporting our cause,” said E.J. Jaxtimer.
