HBRACC Raises the Bar with 2025 BRICC Awards Gala — A Year of Momentum, Partnership, and Purpose

Filed Under: All News & Posts, Awards

Harwich Port, Mass. — October 9, 2025 — The Home Builders & Remodelers Association of Cape Cod (HBRACC) honored the region’s most exceptional builders, designers, and trade professionals at its seventh Building & Remodeling Industry of Cape Cod (BRICC) Awards, held at the Wychmere Beach Club in Harwich Port. The sold-out gala, emceed by U.S. Army veteran and local radio personality Stephanie Viva and keynoted by the incoming chairman of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Bill Owens, brought together hundreds of industry leaders to celebrate excellence, innovation, and the shared mission of building a stronger Cape Cod.

The bi-annual awards program—independently judged by industry experts—showcased the finest achievements in residential construction, design, and remodeling. With nearly 200 submissions across 38 categories, this year’s BRICC Awards reflected both the creative range and technical mastery of the region’s builders and craftspeople.

“The 2025 BRICC Awards celebrated the extraordinary craftsmanship, innovation, and heart that define our members,” said President April Pond Ducott, co-owner of Monomoy Home, custom builders from Harwich. “The competition was fierce, but the camaraderie was even stronger. We left that night inspired—not only by the projects recognized, but by the shared purpose that unites our industry.”

A Transformative Year for Cape Cod’s Building Industry

The gala capped a landmark year for HBRACC—one defined by new partnerships, expanding workforce programs, and record-setting community engagement.

In July, the association’s 24th Annual Nail Bangers’ Golf Tournament raised nearly $8,000 to fully fund the launch of Skilled Purpose, a new pilot program by The Michael English House that provides second-chance carpentry training for individuals reentering the workforce after incarceration or recovery. HBRACC and The Michael English House entered into a memorandum of understanding to promote Skilled Purpose to its membership.

“This is what our industry does best—we build,” said Executive Officer Stefanie Coxe. “From homes to hope, our members are helping to create real pathways for people to rebuild their lives through the trades.”

Just months later on October 16th, HBRACC and the Cape & Islands Workforce Board hosted the most successful Residential Construction Career Day in the event’s history, connecting hundreds of area high school students with Cape employers in a hands-on, career-launching experience.

“These milestones represent the direction we’re heading — stronger partnerships, deeper purpose, and greater visibility for an industry that shapes every community on Cape Cod,” Coxe added.

Celebrating the Best of the Best

The 2025 BRICC Awards honored 74 winners across 38 categories, including new additions such as Accessory Dwelling Units and Best Use of Video Marketing, showcasing the breadth and creativity of Cape Cod’s building professionals.

Awards went to both established firms and first-time entrants, reflecting the strength and diversity of the local industry. Clancy Construction of Falmouth led the evening with eight Gold and three Silver BRICCs, while newcomers MacKenzie Brothers Corporation, Marstons Mills and Watkins Works Building & Remodeling of Orleans earned recognition in remodeling and historic renovation categories.

Diamond sponsorship was provided by Premium Plywood + Specialties of Hyannis, and platinum sponsors included Mid-Cape Home Centers, Bellew Tile & Marble, and KAM Appliances.

“Premium Plywood + Specialties, along with Marvin Design Gallery by Premium, was honored to help recognize the best of the best on Cape Cod,” said Michael Whitelaw, Branch Manager of Premium. “This event showcases what happens when passion, skill, and community come together.”

The company is a source for premium woods to best-in-class machinery and specialty products hard to find on the Cape and Islands. Additionally, it is home to an 8,000-square-foot Marvin Design Gallery showcasing Marvin Window collections including Modern Connected Home automated windows and doors.  This December, Premium is adding C2 Paints, an artisan crafted paint brand, to its assortment which also includes the Farrow & Ball paint brand.

Judges included Greg Bilowz, principal and founder of Bilowz Associates, landscape design firm;  Kathy Bush-Dutton, publisher of New England Home; Jeffrey Brem, a registered civil engineer; Roger Williams University professor Shay Kurzinski, who has a background in architecture and a PhD in Sustainable Construction Management; Betty Moore, publisher of Builder+Architect magazine; David O’Sullivan of O’Sullivan Architects Inc; Jennifer Brooke, design principal and co-founder of LEMON BROOKE, LLC, a landscape architecture and planning studio; Christopher Pike of Clarke Distribution, an appliance supplier; interior designer Kristen Rivoli; and Tony Chiarelli, founder of Landmark Associates General Contracting.

A Future Built on Excellence

All BRICC Award winners will be featured in the upcoming issue of At Home on Cape Cod magazine and showcased online at cape cod builders.org, providing homeowners with a trusted resource to discover the region’s most respected builders, remodelers, and design professionals.

The event also featured keynote speaker Bill Owens, First Vice Chairman of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). A remodeler and home builder from Worthington, Ohio, Owens brings more than 40 years of experience in the residential construction industry and will assume the role of Chairman of NAHB in 2026. His remarks highlighted the Cape’s leadership in housing innovation and industry collaboration nationwide

“Cape Cod’s builders, designers, and tradespeople continue to raise the bar, not just for the region but for the industry nationwide,” Ducott said. “Whether they took home an award or not, everyone left the gala proud, motivated, and ready to build what’s next.”
