Cape & Coast Bank Bolsters Commercial Banking Team to Drive Growth as the Region’s “Bank for Business”

Promotes Robert Carey to Chief Commercial Lending Officer; Appoints Christopher Lynch as Commercial Relationship Manager

HYANNIS, Mass., June 8, 2026 — Cape & Coast Bank today announced a leadership promotion and new hire within its Commercial Banking division, reinforcing its focus on business banking growth across the region.

Robert Carey, who joined the bank in 2013, has been promoted to Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial Lending Officer, effective immediately. Carey, who most recently served as Commercial Banking Market Leader, will report directly to Cape & Coast Bank President and CEO Erik Porter.

The bank also announced the hire of veteran commercial banking professional Christopher Lynch as Vice President, Commercial Relationship Manager, reporting directly to Carey.

Carey, who has more than 20 years’ banking experience, will lead the bank’s seasoned commercial team. Under Carey’s leadership, the team will focus on Cape & Coast Bank’s core strategic priorities, including enhancing the client experience, advancing digital capabilities, and driving sustainable deposit and loan growth.

Before taking on the role of Market Leader at the bank, Carey served as a Commercial Relationship Banker. Prior to joining Cape & Coast Bank, Carey held senior positions at Pioneer Investments, Ridgewood Securities, Sun Life Financial and Assent Clearing LLC.

Carey has been active in community organizations since joining the bank, including Barnstable Land Trust and Meals on Wheels, and has served as a youth athletics coach. He earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Bryant University.

Lynch, an accomplished banking professional with more than two decades experience, joins Cape & Coast Bank from Mechanics Cooperative Bank. He has also held senior management roles at Zing Products, Rockland Trust Company and Citizens Financial Group.

Dedicated to community involvement, Lynch has volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and is a former member of the Taunton Chamber of Commerce board of directors. He earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Bentley University.
