Community Health Center CHC Community Fundraising Kickoff
Community Health Center of Cape Cod Expanding Access to Health Care in Sandwich Community Fundraising Kickoff
Sandwich – Community Health Center of Cape Cod’s (CHC) new facility, located at 87 Route 6A in Sandwich, remains on schedule for an anticipated opening in early 2027, with the goal of expanding access to comprehensive health care for more than 5,000 patients across the region. Today, CHC is officially launching its community fundraising campaign, inviting Upper Cape residents, employers and members of the business community to help raise the final $2 million of the $10 million project. This final phase of fundraising will help bring the transformative project across the finish line and create a new health care resource designed to serve the community for years to come.
This project comes at a critical time, as demand for accessible health care continues to grow across the region. Over the past three years, CHC has experienced a 43% increase in patients from Sandwich, underscoring the growing need for convenient, comprehensive health care close to home. By expanding capacity in Sandwich, this new facility will allow CHC to serve more individuals and families, reduce barriers to care and ensure more members of our community can access the services they need. The new 19,000+ square-foot facility will serve as a comprehensive medical home offering primary care, behavioral health, dental, optometry, recovery services, telehealth, same-day walk-in care, a retail pharmacy, and wrap-around support like transportation assistance and insurance enrollment, along with workforce housing for staff to help strengthen the workforce on Cape Cod. Designed to meet LEED Silver certification standards, the project reflects CHC’s commitment to both environmental sustainability and long-term community health.
This project is about more than health care – it is about investing in the future of our community. While construction is bringing the building to life, philanthropic support is helping make everything this new health center will provide possible. Therefore, CHC is actively expanding a community fundraising campaign that engages the Upper Cape region to empower residents, employers, and the business community to help raise the last $2M of the $10M project to reach the project fundraising goal, making this transformative project a place for all. CHC is working collectively with community leaders, forging partnerships with the schools for long-term programming, and connecting with constituents to create a place where everyone has access to exceptional care, where innovation meets compassion and where every individual is welcome for generations to come. This project is about more than health care – it is about investing in the future of our community.
“We have an extraordinary opportunity to come together and create a place that will care for our neighbors and families,” said Karen Gardner, Chief Executive Officer. “Every gift, every partnership, and every person who joins this effort brings us closer to opening these doors, so I invite the entire Upper Cape and beyond to be part of this important moment that will make a difference for decades to come.”
CHC welcomes your questions and involvement in this transformational project and needs the community’s support.
