Plymouth Center for the Arts Announces 59th Annual Juried Art Show
Opening Night Celebration to take place Saturday, September 19, 6-9 p.m.; associated events scheduled through September and October
PLYMOUTH, MA, ISSUED SEPTEMBER 10, 2025…Plymouth Center for the Arts (PCA), a historic gallery and venue for visual and performing arts in downtown Plymouth, is proud to announce the opening of its 59th Annual Juried Art Show (AJAS), taking place Saturday, September 19, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Plymouth Center for the Arts, 11 North Street in Plymouth. The show runs through October 26.
The Annual Juried Art Show began in 1967 as the Plymouth Outdoor Art Show on the waterfront in Brewster Gardens. After 20 years on the waterfront, and then additional locations, the show expanded and formalized into Plymouth Center for the Arts, opening in the historic Russell Library on North Street in Plymouth in July 2007. The Annual Juried Art Show is the longest running show at the PCA, and this year’s signature exhibit received a record number of submissions, resulting in remarkable works across all artistic media.
In addition to the opening night reception, which will feature the awards presentation, wine, artisan small bites, and live music, the PCA will again feature two companion events: Art in Bloom, featuring floral arrangements created by local garden clubs and inspired by selected AJAS works (opening reception Thursday, October 1, from 6 to 8 p.m.); and Visual Inverse, showcasing readings by local poets of original compositions inspired by selected AJAS works, taking place Sunday, October 11, from 2 to 4 p.m.
“We had an extraordinary response to this year’s call for submissions for the Annual Juried Art Show, and the quality of artwork we’re showcasing demonstrates the cultural significance of this show, which continues to build every year,” said Kim Corben, executive director of Plymouth Center for the Arts. “We’re looking forward to a very special night, and can’t wait to share the show with the greater Plymouth community.”
