Blue Rock Golf Course Launches Holiday Fundraising Drive for Cape Cod Veterans

(SOUTH YARMOUTH, MA) – Blue Rock Golf Course in South Yarmouth has launched a holiday fundraising drive for local veterans in coordination with the Cape & Islands Veterans Outreach Center in Hyannis.
From now through the end of October, $5 from every greens fee paid at Blue Rock Golf Course will go directly to CIVOC and their ongoing efforts to help veterans and their families here on Cape Cod.
In addition, for non-golfers who would like to help local veterans, the Blue Rock Golf Course Pro Shop at 48 Todd Road in South Yarmouth will be a collection point for non-perishable food items that will be donated to the organization’s food pantry in Hyannis in time for the holiday season.
The Cape & Islands Veterans Outreach Center provides extensive assistance for Cape Cod veterans and their families, including mental health support, supportive services for veteran families, food insecurity assistance, transportation, legal assistance, and more. Their food pantry services provide help for well over 13,000 vets and their families each year.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the number of veterans living on Cape Cod is 65% higher than the statewide percentage. Combine that with the ongoing high cost of food and fuel, and the need for help is greater than ever.
Blue Rock Golf Course is honored to help those veterans and their families this year by donating $5 from every greens fee from now through the end of October to CIVOC and encourages golfers and non-golfers to also help by donating non-perishable food items at the Blue Rock Golf Course Pro Shop at 48 Todd Road in South Yarmouth.
